Description:
Through the specially-created Study India Program (SIP) of the university, inaugurated in 1998, the University of Hyderabad emphasizes heritage, continuity and change in India. Interdisciplinary in nature, with participating faculty from various schools, departments and research centers at the university, SIP offers excellent coursework options. All students take a course entitled Introducing India (3 credits), as well as another 3-credit option from a select list of courses in anthropology, communications, English, folk culture studies, languages, Indian philosophy, and Women’s Studies.

Program Details:
Four week program designed for a small group of international students interested in Buddhism and Asian Studies. The program focuses on the complex relationship between Buddhism and Thai history, politics, economics, education, literature, law, arts, and theatre. Participants will be instructed by distinguished scholars and professors at Thammasat University and will visit sites of particular historical importance.

Classes are held in the morning Monday through Friday with time for study or cultural explorations in the afternoon. On the weekends, students participate in field trips to temples, monasteries, museums, archaeological remains, palaces, and ethnic minority communities throughout Thailand. Opportunities will also be provided for attending cultural performances of Thai theatre, dance, and music.
Location:
Thammasat University is centered on a compact campus that was formerly the viceroy’s palace grounds on the Chao Phrya River - near the center of the original Bangkok. The campus is close to some of Thailand's most sacred temples and many government ministries, as well as the Grand Palace, the National Theater, and the National Museum.

Description:
Spend six weeks studying Spanish language and Chilean culture at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. The Program includes day excursions to the Cabalgata Dunas de Ritoque and the Vineyards of Casablanca, and a weekend excursion to Cajón del Maipo in the Andes Mountains and the capital city of Santiago. Students live with Chilean host families. Advanced Level Students:

Description:
Six-week intensive French language program at the beginner,
intermediate, and advanced levels. Field trips
to sites in the scenic surrounding area and cultural activities
are included. Single rooms in shared double apartment in downtown Chambéry. Chambéry is located in the heart of the Alps, a couple of
hours by train from Switzerland, Italy, and Paris.
Credits: Program includes 15hrs/wk instruction, 3hrs/wk monitored language lab, and 3 workshops on aspects of local life. Total hours of instruction with lab: 108 hours (5-6 U.S. credits, depending on your university’s transfer policy).

Students who applied by February 15, 2008, have already been considered and will hear a response about their placement from their Home ISEP Coordinator by mid/late March 2008. Topic: Spanish Language and Mexican Culture with Service Learning Program Details:
UDEM offers a 4 week language program. Learn Spanish while giving a helping hand! Students will be able to transfer up to 6 US credits, and will also be awarded a community service certificate.
The classes will be complemented by visits to different companies and museums, such as: Cuauhtémoc Brewing Co., Mexican History Museum, Glass Museum, Contemporary Art Museum, and Garcia Caves.
During the second week of the program, students will visit a rural community within Nuevo Leon. In this community, they will develop their teamwork and leadership skills by working on a project with the people of the community. Students will receive a certificate for this activity (90 hours of community service).

Topic: Study Spanish & Participate in Community Service Program Details:
Four-week in Spanish language and Latin American History and Culture combined with community service in Montevideo. This program is for students with four semesters of university-level Spanish.
Students will attend classes in the morning and participate in community service in the afternoon. The program includes weekly cultural activities (theatre, tango, etc.) and a tour of Montevideo. Guided visits to some of the following sites are included as well:
the coastal towns and beaches of Colonia del Sacramento, Punta del Este, and Rocha, and the hot springs of Salto and Paysandú –cattle towns on the Argentine border.
Students live with host families (21 meals/week) or in a university residence (stipend for 21 meals/week).
Community Service Projects:
Projects are administered by the Faculty of Human Sciences and include serving the underprivileged and marginalized populations in state institutions and non-governmental organizations such as schools, youth centers, hospitals, and displaced communities.
