International Summer School (ISS) and Chinese Language Program (CLP)
The International Summer School (ISS): Live and learn alongside local Chinese and international students from a variety of cultures. While taking academic classes taught in English and gaining insight into Asian cultures, students experience a unique learning environment on the green, spacious campus of Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and enjoy the many pleasures of summer in Hong Kong.
The Chinese Learning Program (CLP): This program at CUHK provides students an opportunity to learn Putonghua and acquire pragmatic competence through lessons and immersion activities. Visits to historic sites in and around Hong Kong are included.

3.0 GPA equivalent required.
I-to-I applicants who are not native English speakers must submit a minimum official TOEFL of 530 (197 CBT) or the ISEP Language Proficiency Report. Note: The host institution ultimately determines proficiency level and course eligibility.

HOUSING AND MEALS
Students are housed in student dormitory in double- or triple-occupancy rooms with shared bathroom facilities. Basic cooking and communal facilities such as laundry, study room, music room, computer room, and multi-purpose room are also available. Married student housing is NOT available. A meal stipend is provided.
Cultural programs are organized to help international students discover Chinese and Hong Kong culture. These may include an orientation session to help them navigate Hong Kong as well as visits to cultural, tourist, and historic sites such as the Big Buddha and Victoria Peak. Both the ISS and CLP offer optional tours to mainland China for an additional fee.
