Student Handbook - Student Health Insurance

ISEP has designed a health insurance program to meet your needs for short-term, comprehensive international health insurance. Enrollment in the policy is mandatory and is a requirement of your ISEP placement. Please follow the directions for online enrollment that you receive with the confirmation of your ISEP placement; you need to include proof of enrollment with the acceptance of your placement.

All ISEP students and accompanying dependents are required to enroll in the ISEP insurance program (with the exception identified below under "National Health Insurance Requirement" and in the Insurance section ). Enrollment in this policy is a condition of placement that will not be waived even if you are covered under another policy. The reasons for this requirement are the following:

You must enroll for the full period of your placement, from the date of your departure to the date of your return to your home country, including periods of travel before or after your period of study abroad. It is your responsibility to enroll and pay the full premium as explained above. If you fail to do so, ISEP reserves the right to enroll you for the full period of your placement and bill you for the premium plus a penalty fee.

The ISEP student insurance does not cover treatment received in your home country. It is necessary for you to arrange other insurance that will provide coverage within your home country.
For complete information about the ISEP Student Health Insurance Program and to enroll, please visit the ISEP Student Health Insurance section.

National Health Insurance Requirement
ISEP students studying abroad at ISEP member institutions in certain countries are required to enroll in the host government-sponsored health insurance. More information can be found in your placement packet (IIS and online Country Handbook) and in the Insurance section of this site. In most of these cases, ISEP waives its health insurance requirement, but ISEP bly recommends that students enroll in an insurance plan that will cover them until they are covered under the national health insurance of the host country.

Additional health insurance to cover medical evacuation and repatriation of remains, as well as benefits while traveling outside of the host country, is also recommended. These benefits are provided under the ISEP Student Health Insurance policy, it is recommended that students purchase this or a similar package.
