ISEP offers two types of programs: ISEP-Exchange and ISEP-Direct. The benefits and obligations described in this section apply to both program types except where specific references are made to ISEP-Direct program benefits and obligations.
ISEP-Exchanges are based on the exchange of benefits between institutions. As a participating student, you pay your home institution a fee based on the cost of regular tuition, fees, room, and board at your home institution and thus create a "place" and set of benefits for an incoming international student. Each participating international student makes a similar arrangement at his or her home institution to create a "place" and a set of benefits for an incoming ISEP student. Students then exchange one-for-one.
ISEP-Direct programs' benefits vary. All ISEP-Direct programs include tuition and administrative fees for the host institution. Some ISEP-Direct programs include housing and meal benefits, some programs only provide housing but not meals, and some programs are tuition-only. Participants in ISEP-Direct programs are charged a fee that covers the benefits of their specific ISEP-Direct program. The host institution bills ISEP for the benefits provided, and ISEP bills the student’s home institution, which collects the fee from the student. For information about the benefits provided under your specific ISEP-Direct placement, please refer to the program description on the ISEP Web site, the conditions of placement and any special conditions on your Participant Placement Acceptance Form (PPAF), and your host institution's Insititutional Information Sheet (IIS).
