Week in St. Petersburg
The program in Russia will include the lectures:
Russia
and the West;
Russian debate on Globalization;
Russia
and the Northern Dimension;
Russian economic and institutional
reforms;
Russian accession to WTO;
Russian
civil society;
Russia and the problems of arms control.
Meetings with officials at St. Petersburg City Government,
representatives of a media firm and tour of an
industrial factory are part of the academic program.
Cultural program will include: attendance of a performance
at Mariinsky Theatre, excursion to the Hermitage
and Tsarskoye Selo, city tour of St. Petersburg.
About Saint Petersburg
In northwestern Russia, at the east end of the Gulf of Finland, on the Baltic Sea, the impressive Saint Petersburg was founded by Peter the Great and was the capital of the Russian Empire for more than two hundred years. St. Petersburg is another major European cultural center and an important sea port in the Baltic. The center of St. Petersburg is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
