Week in Tallinn/Tartu

The program in Estonia
will include the lectures:
Soviet collapse from the Baltic perspective;
the issue of Russian-speaking minority;
the politics of memory;
Estonia and the European Union;
challenges of economic transition;
challenges of judicial reform.
Visits to the Parliament, National Court and one of the largest commercial banks are part of the academic program.

Cultural program will include: visits to the Estonian National Art Museum, Museum of Occupation, Estonian History Museum, city tours of Tallinn and Tartu, attendance of a performance at the national Ballet and Opera Theatre “Estonia”

About Tartu
Situated in southeastern Estonia, Tartu is a historic university town. The nearly 20,000 students at the renowned University of Tartu inject a feeling of vibrancy into the city which only multiplies when walking the streets of classic architecture dating back to the late 1700’s. Tartu is considered to be the intellectual and cultural center of Estonia. There are also hills and lakes to explore.
