Welcome to Beloit College and the mid-west of America! The Beloit community is a small and energetic one. Beloit has a long history of opening its doors to international students. - Founded in 1846 by graduates of Yale College as Wisconsin's first institution of higher learning, Beloit College is a 4-year, independent, selective, residential liberal arts institution.

- Theater
This program stresses the interdependency of academic study and experiential learning, the importance of disciplinary foundations, and the significance of a broad knowledge of performance and culture. - Economics and Business Management
All department majors are designed to provide a basic understanding of the framework and key institutions of modern economic systems. Each major also provides students with the opportunity to develop expertise in quantitative analysis of economic and business data. TOEFL Requirement
A minimum TOEFL score of 80 iBT or 213 CBT or a minimum IELTS score of 6.5. The College offers two credit-bearing English as a Second Language courses in the Fall semester and one in the Spring to help students succeed academically. Students enrolled in ESL courses combine them with courses in other disciplines.
Student Life

As a residential college, Beloit has an active program of co- and extra-curricular activities. There are frequent lectures, symposia, performances, and exhibits. Students are active in clubs, community service, performances, and both formal and informal sports. A host family program provides international students with windows into the lives of area residents. International students in turn have many opportunities to teach about themselves and their countries. Vehicles for this include classes and campus symposia, a host family program, visits to schools and community organizations, a multicultural festival, an international dinner, campus symposia, and student clubs. - Housing
Students are housed in double-occupancy residence hall rooms on campus. - Meals
Each ISEP students receives a meal plan for 20 meals per week in the College's dining facilities. These consist of a dining commons, snack bar and coffee shop. Students generally cook, eat with host families, or make use of local eateries on Sunday evenings when no meal is served. - Student Activities
The Office of Student Activities organizes off-campus trips as do many clubs.

ISEP coordinator
Josie Inaldo has worked at Beloit College for almost 3 years. She first came to Beloit as the 2003-2004 graduate intern and returned in 2007 as the Assistant Director/International Student Advisor at the Office of International Education (OIE). Josie earned a Masters degree in International Education from the School for International Training (SIT). While an undergraduate at Marist College, she spent her junior year abroad at Royal Holloway, University of London. From 1999 to 2001, she taught English and advised for the JET program. When she's not working, she is either eating or shopping for Hello Kitty objects.

- The College is located on an historic 400-acre campus in the City of Beloit (population 35,775) on the Illinois border 155 km (90 miles) from Chicago, 80 km (50 miles) from Madison, Wisconsin and 112 km (70 miles) from Milwaukee.
- Community resources include museums, theater, parks, sports, a symphony, a historic district and civic organizations such as Rotary Club.
- Outreach programs from the College include: a community service day during orientation, the Help Yourself program (educational outreach to children, the Duffy Community Partnership Program (student internships), the Campus Outreach Center (volunteering), Girls and Women in Science (annual weekend program for 6th grade girls), and a host family program for international students and scholars.
