Visit the website dedicated to incoming study abroad and exchange students. From here, click on How to Apply. Go to Step 2 "Develop Your Swinburne Study Plan" and open the PDF document first. This will give you information on finding units available in the semester that you wish to study at Swinburne. Then click on the link choose the subjects you wish to study. To ensure the units are available in your Study Abroad semester/s please click on Allocate Plus.

Special Academic Conditions
A full-time load at Swinburne University of Technology is 50 SUT credit points. Most subjects at Swinburne are worth 12.5 SUT Credit points. Students must enroll in a minimum of 3 subjects during the academic semester. Students must enroll in full-time studies. Please ensure you have met any pre-requisites that your desired units may have. We recommend you list at least six units on your application form in order of preference, in case one of your subjects in not available or not suitable.

Language Notes
Students from non-native English-speaking countries must submit one of the following:

IELTS: 6.0 overall (no band below 6.0)
Computer-based TOEFL: 213 with essay writing score 5
Internet-based TOEFL: 80 (no band below 20)

United States Students
US students are expected to have a GPA of 2.6 or higher.

Scandinavian Students
Applicants from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden may provide Secondary School English results in support of their English ability.

German Students
Applicants from Germany may provide DAAD: a minimum of "B" in all four skill areas, plus Abitur English results of 7.0/grade 3 in the final three years of secondary school or Fachhochschulreife (Certificate of Advanced Level vocational secondary school) with an English mark of at least 3.0 (Satisfactory) and DAAD with a minimum of "B" in all four skill areas.

Program Dates
Academic year: beginning of March to end of November; Semester 1: beginning of March to beginning of July; Semester 2: end of July to end of November.

Housing and Meals
Students are housed on campus in single fully furnished rooms. More information on UniLodge at Swinburne Place can be found at http://www.swinburne.edu.au/corporate/swinburne_place/. We can assist students with spouses and families with housing; however, please contact the Swinburne Abroad Office for further information.

Meals are provides for ISEP-Exchange. Students will receive a stipend for up to 20 meals per week.

Student Activities
Exchange students are well taken care of before, after and during their semester at Swinburne. Students are provided with pre-departure information and airport pick up on arrival. When they arrive, students are given a comprehensive orientation program including "welcome hours" where students have the opportunity to meet other newly arrived students. New students also have an opportunity to join "Swin Mates" - a program that matches incoming exchange and study abroad students with Swinburne students.

Founded in 1908, we offer courses from foundation studies, certificates, diplomas, bachelor and master courses to PhDs.
