Academic Notes
Bendigo Campus is popular for its strong and unique programs in Outdoor Education and Nature Tourism - experience the excitement and adventure while learning more about yourself and the environment. Outdoor Education units involve extensive field trips that explore the Australian outback through bushwalking, rock- climbing, canoeing and more. Students who are not majoring in these subjects may enjoy taking them as electives.

Other recommended fields of study at the Bendigo campus are: visual arts, social work, business, and information technology.


Special Academic Conditions
The La Trobe Study Abroad Program is very flexible and available in both undergraduate and postgraduate level for study abroad. You can take all your units (subjects) within your major OR several across different faculties. However, when looking up units at La Trobe Study Abroad, there will be a section stating: “Available to Study Abroad students”. Be sure it states “Y”, which designates that the unit can be undertaken by a Study Abroad student.

Language Notes
Students from non-native English-speaking countries must submit a minimum TOEFL score of 550 with a score of 5 or better in the Test of Written English. (OR 213 CBT-student must have a 5 in essay writing OR 80 IBT-no individual score less than 20.). Alternative to the TOEFL, student may submit an IELTS score of 6 or better, with no individual band score less than 6.0.

Program Dates
La Trobe observes Southern Hemisphere calendar. Academic year: February/March through November; Semester 1: February/March to June; Semester 2: July through November.

Housing and Meals
Students are housed in on-campus, catered accommodation including single-occupancy rooms with communal bathrooms, and recreational facilities. The ISEP-Direct program in Australia does not include meals.

Student Activities
Residence halls arrange a variety of social activities for students to participate in, making it easy to make friends and integrate into the campus community. There are also plenty of clubs and sports teams to choose from, many of which organize excursions to explore Australia: check out the Bendigo Student Association, Bendigo International Student Club, visual and performing arts club, environmental groups, and more.

ISEP-Direct
ISEP has developed the Australia-Direct program to provide students with competitively priced fee-paid study abroad options in Australia. The program is distinct from other ISEP-Direct programs; the program has its own application form and placement procedures. Some Australia-Direct institutions offer more than one fee based on different housing arrangements (tuition-only, tuition and single-room, tuition and shared-room). Meals are not included in the program. Students are also responsible for the application fee, travel costs and personal expenses.
