A Tropical Paradise for Spanish Speakers Puerto Rico is a Caribbean island located south of Florida and east of the Dominican Republic. It is famous for its diverse tropical landscape, beautiful beaches and coral reefs, warm Caribbean climate, salsa music, and most importantly the friendly and hospitable people.

Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States and the official languages are Spanish and English, although Spanish is the dominant language. All coursework is in Spanish, which makes it great destination for Spanish speakers – especially those who do not wish to take the TOEFL (no TOEFL score is required) or receive a low score, but still want to study in the U.S.

ISEP students have the option of studying in Puerto Rico’s vibrant capitol of San Juan or on the southwestern coast in Mayagüez.
