Developing Communications and Social Networks

Most employers seek candidates with strong communication skills and global awareness. Take advantage of your role as an ISEP Ambassador to demonstrate that you have both. No matter which form of media you prefer, you can draw on your intercultural experiences both abroad and at home to build a strong portfolio that illustrates the important work you’ve done on behalf of ISEP and study abroad.

“I received emails via Facebook as well as my college address from students inquiring about the University of Malta. I answered their questions in a timely manner and they responded with enthusiasm. Also, I published an article in the student newspaper about my experiences abroad to encourage other students to do so through the ISEP program. I included my contact information as well as the information of our study abroad office.”

“Facebook has proved to be a great resource to interact with the students; I can organize events, answer questions, prompt questions, and ‘meet’ students who are in various stages of the study abroad process. I even encouraged some international students to get on Facebook before arriving so they wouldn’t be so bewildered by it when they arrived.”
