Photo Essay Contest
Announcing the Spring 2010 and
Full-Year 2009-2010 Photo Essay Contest!
Be the voice of ISEP! Share your best creative entries for a chance to win $100 or be featured in ISEP publications.
Three winners will receive a $100 prize! All entries will be posted on the ISEP website.
Students are invited to submit entries that reflect upon their educational and cultural experiences abroad. Entries must be the original work of the student.
Submissions should include:
- Details about the academic program and host institution
- Descriptions of daily and campus life in the host culture
- Photos of people, traditions, and local customs.
- What you learned from your experience
- Ways in which the study abroad experience affected your life
Your entry should have a coherent theme that is representative of your host country, host university, and overall experience. Tell us about specific events, cultural components, revelations or academic experiences that changed your life!

Eligibility
ISEP participants who studied abroad for Spring 2010 or Full-Year 2009-10.
Deadline
July 30, 2010
The winners will be announced by mid-August 2010.
How To Enter
Attach submission materials in an email to isepmedia@gmail.com
Please include the following information in your email:
- Full name
- ISEP host institution, location and term
- Home institution
You may also mail a data CD with the entry by post to:

Category #1: Photo Essay
Submission Guidelines:
- 5-10 high resolution digital photos (minimum 1200 x 1600 pixels)
- Photos MUST be submitted in the order that they appear in the essay
- Please name photo submissions as follows:
lastname1.jpg, lastname2.jpg (i.e. smith1.jpg, smith2.jpg) - 500-1,000 word essay (.doc or .txt file)
- Please indicate clearly what text corresponds to what photo!
(photos may be embedded in the document to show where they belong, but they must also be submitted separately.)
Category #2: Poetry with Photos
Submission Guidelines:
- 5-10 high resolution digital photos (minimum 1200 x 1600 pixels)
- Photos MUST be submitted in the order that they appear in the essay
- Please name photo submissions as follows:
lastname1.jpg, lastname2.jpg (i.e. smith1.jpg, smith2.jpg) - poem up to 500 words (.doc or .txt file)
- Please indicate clearly what text corresponds to what photo!
(photos may be embedded in the document to show where they belong, but they must also be submitted separately.)
Category #3: Digital Video
Submission Guidelines:
- Video of up to 5 minutes in length (MPEG4 format)
- Upload your video to YouTube and send us the link
NOTE: All materials submitted to the ISEP photo essay contest become property of ISEP. By submitting your photographs and videos, you also permit ISEP to use your name in conjunction with any media used to promote ISEP programs. ISEP has the sole right to determine the future use of photos and videos.
