Hints for Researching Courses
Hints for Researching Courses
From the 2007 Student handbook (course catalogue), there are 2 ways to search for courses: by Course Structure or by Unit (see links to the left). Keep in mind that in Australia, the term “course” signifies a degree program and a “unit” signifies a specific course within that degree program.
- To search by Course, click the link for “Course structure” on the left of the main handbook page.
- Scroll down the main “Undergraduate Courses” page and select the link of a course of interest.
- Note the campus* where that course is available in the small chart at the top of the page.
- Just below the chart, select the link for “Course structure” to see unit options for that particular program.
- Select the link for any option code to find information about prerequisites, contact hours per week, and a description of content to be covered.
*To search by campus, follow steps for “Course structure” above, except after selecting a course of interest, choose the link to the left called “List all courses” and view the chart with all courses and corresponding campuses. Click on the course of interest and follow steps 4-5 above.
- To search by Unit, click the link for “Unit search” on the left of the main handbook page.
- Enter a keyword (for example, “psychology”) and click the “Search” button.
- will be taken to a list of all units linked to that keyword, along with prerequisites, contact hours, and description of content.

The program is distinct from other ISEP-Direct programs; the program has its own application form and placement procedures. Some Australia-Direct institutions offer more than one fee based on different housing arrangements (tuition-only, tuition and single-room, tuition and shared-room). Meals are not included in the program. Students are also responsible for the application fee, travel costs and personal expenses. Students selecting the tuition-only option are also responsible for the cost of housing. For more information go to ISEP-Direct Australia Fee page.
