Student Photo Essays
A great way to motivate students to go abroad is for them to 1) visually see and hear what it’s really going to be like and 2) for them to hear this directly from students who have already done it. The ISEP Photo-Essay Contest does just that!
Each year, ISEP invites students to send us their creative writing pieces, photo-essays, and digital videos to post on our website. This is a great way to help them reflect on their study abroad experience, and to help others learn about the sites abroad. The winner of the contest is usually awarded $100 USD.
We encourage you to have a link to the photo-essays from your website and let students know about them when you are advising. You can also promote the entries of your students by contacting the on-campus newspaper or art department to see if they would be willing to feature your student’s essay.
Beginning this year, ISEP will be accepting entries twice a year. The contest deadlines are usually in January for Summer or SM1 students, or August for FY or SM2 students. Please encourage your students to participate!
