ISEP Tour of Indiana Institutions
November 12-18, 2008
International colleagues are cordially invited to visit three Indiana institutions prior to the 2008 ISEP Conference. Experience the diversity of U.S. higher education and the beautiful state of Indiana during this multi-day site visit and cultural tour!
Ball State University (ISEP Coordinator: Jill McKinney) is located in Muncie, designated by sociologists as Middletown, a typical American city. About 18,500 undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled.
University of Southern Indiana (ISEP Coordinator: Heidi Gregori-Gahan) is located on a 300-acre wooded campus on the edge of Evansville, Indiana’s third largest city. The university is a comprehensive public institution enrolling more than 9,300 undergraduate students and approximately 800 graduate students.
Indiana State University (ISEP Coordinator: Janis Halpern), located in Terre Haute, enrolls approximately 11,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The surrounding Wasbash Valley is rich in American culture and heritage.
The cost of the tour is $780, and includes hotel accommodations (single rooms) for the nights of November 12-17, airport shuttle in Indianapolis, transportation via minivan, visits to New Harmony and the Amish community in Southern Indiana, and most meals. The itinerary specifies meals that are not covered in the program fee. Participants should arrive in Indianapolis by November 12 . The tour will conclude on November 18, but participants can stay overnight in Indianapolis for an additional charge ($145). The roundtrip airfare for the recommended itinerary is $258 (including taxes).
