Collaboration, Communication and Creativity: Leveraging the ISEP Network
We are pleased to showcase our continuing efforts to expand the ISEP Worldwide Network. The ISEP 2012 Symposium offers ISEP members and colleagues various opportunities to explore how collaboration, communication and creativity can strengthen the ISEP Network and its role in the field of International Education. Participants will gather on April 16-17, 2012 for a day and a half of professional development and networking.
The ISEP 2012 Symposium is co-hosted by the Graz University of Technology and the Karl-Franzens University Graz. The ISEP Council Events committee and staff from both Graz universities are working closely to develop a series of roundtable discussion topics relevant to all participants. Feedback and suggestions from the membership will be incorporated into the program.

The Symposium begins with an optional cultural program on Sunday, April 15. Visits to Hundertwasser’s St. Barbara Church and the world-famous Lipizzaner Horse farm are rounded up with a traditional Styrian dinner.
After an official Welcome by both Graz host universities on Monday morning, ISEP President Mary Anne Grant will present an ISEP Update and introduce the featured Keynote Speaker Dr. Stefanie Lindstaedt. An introduction to the Austrian Higher Education system is followed by a lunch of typical Austrian cuisine and a series of roundtable discussions centered on the three Symposium themes: Collaboration, Communication and Creativity. The first day will end with a Welcome Reception hosted by the Mayor of Graz at City Hall and optional restaurant visits with colleagues.
On Tuesday, Symposium participants will warm-up with a Speed Networking session before discussing best practices and ideas for strengthening and diversifying programs and services within the ISEP Network. A panel of ISEP student alumni will share their ISEP study abroad experiences before the Symposium will wrap up with conclusions and a roadmap for the future.
Why the ISEP-Graz collaboration? ISEP institutions in the US and worldwide have exchanged students with Graz University of Technology and Karl-Franzens University Graz for over 20 years. A bond of mutual trust and respect has developed over time and reinforced the perception of Austria as an attractive destination for US and International students.
We look forward to welcoming you in Graz!
Immediately following the Symposium, we invite you to join us for the ISEP Austrian Regional Orientation Tour.
