Full-Time AVP of External Relations

ISEP is currently seeking a Full-Time AVP of External Relations for our central office located in Arlington VA.

Position Summary
The AVP External Relations is responsible for overall management of both the IT and Communications & Marketing Departments. This position will report to the Executive Vice President in developing successful strategies to fulfill ISEP's goals, coordinating and planning work for these two key areas. The AVP will manage IT projects, oversee outreach efforts, and assist with internal communications across departmental lines concerning IT and Communications/Marketing. The AVP will also coordinate other ISEP projects as time permits.

Principal Accountabilities
The AVP must have strong management and communications skills, particularly in project management, for inter- and intra-departmental collaboration and input. The position requires the ability to work from strategic goals in developing plans and overseeing progress toward the goals. The AVP will collaborate with other AVPs and the Executive Team in developing and implementing projects in support of ISEP's strategic agenda.

Information Technology

  • Lead strategic planning for hardware, software and technology usage
  • Oversee implementation of short and long-term IT projects and plans
  • Supervise Director of Information Systems and support her leadership in defining and developing technology solutions for ISEP
  • Monitor performance and plan staffing needs for the IT department
  • Work with Director of Information Systems in assessing needs for and performance of outside vendors for delivery and management of network-based services, applications and equipment and in monitoring contracts
  • Organize and chair IT governance group to validate and clear IT initiatives
  • Develop cooperation and collaboration strategies to manage competing priorities for departments and to ensure technology supports business needs
  • Present information concerning technology needs and applications to the Executive staff
  • Work with Director of Information Systems to develop and monitor IT budget
  • Foster inter and intra-departmental collaboration

Communications and Marketing

  • Oversee development and implementation of strategic communications and marketing plan in support of ISEP's strategic goals
  • Supervise Director of Communications and Marketing
  • Ensure collaboration between IT, Programs and Communications and Marketing departments
  • Ensure communications reflect ISEP's image and provide information for members and the international education community
  • Work with Director of Communications/Marketing to develop and implement annual events calendar
  • Serve as point person for periodic ISEP conferences
  • Work with President/CEO on plan and implementation of outreach to senior international educators

Qualifications
Required

  • Ten years' of increasingly responsible experience with project management and higher and/or international education management including development, oversight and budgeting
  • Understanding of and openness to using technology to enhance organizational goals. Ability to manage integration of technology
  • Strong management, interpersonal communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to lead from a strategic agenda
  • MA/MS degree

Preferred

  • Project Management involving and/or using technology.
  • Understanding of not-for-profit administration
  • Knowledge and understanding of international education, including cross-cultural skills and competency in a foreign language
  • Proven track record of facilitating communication and cooperation across different work units

Full-Time Program Officer

ISEP is currently seeking a Full-Time Program Officer for ISEP Direct for our central office located in Arlington VA.

Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Director of ISEP Direct, the Program officer manages communication with ISEP Direct host institution coordinators on matters pertaining to cost agreements, invoices, and memoranda of understanding, and to resolve related issues; maintains enrollment data; contributes to the fee setting process; supports efforts to reform internal procedures; and assists in the development of materials related to program promotion. Additional responsibilities include maintaining ISEP Direct data with website and WebIS interface.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Member Relations
    • Manages sending, tracking and receipt of cost agreements from Host institutions
    • Reviews invoices from host institutions, approves payment for accounting
    • Works with Host coordinators and program staff to resolve issues related to costs and benefits
    • Collaborates with MDP, Programs Staff in development of Direct Programs
  2. Internal Operations
    • Provides support for PCAR/PCAW students' fee negotiation in Direct programs
    • Keep records of adjusted fees for PCAR/PCAW students for invoicing purposes
    • Maintains cost and benefit package information for Direct programs
    • Collaborates with Finance, MDP, and Program Staff to provide enrollment data and future projections
    • Maintain records of student enrollment trends, program costs, and program revenue for analysis
  3. Outreach and Marketing
    • Provides input for and reviews ISEP publications, materials and website information for ISEP Direct programs
    • Conducts preliminary research on programs offered by competitors in the field
  4. Service to Membership
    • Responds to general inquiries about ISEP Direct programs
    • Provides cost breakdowns of the program fee for financial aid purposes
    • Provides information on ISEP Direct programs and program fee payment
  5. Other projects related to Annual Plan as assigned

Requirements

Education: BA required.

Experience: 2-3 years relevant work experience

Required Skills:

  • Strong analysis and data management skills;
  • fluency with Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets;
  • attention to detail and ability to follow-through;
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to handle detail;
  • Ability to work well independently

Preferred Skills:

  • Study abroad or work abroad experience useful;
  • Understanding of higher education systems,
  • Cross-cultural awareness.
